The Ella Valley Wineries

The Ella Valley Winery has been proudly chosen among hundreds of Israeli wineries to represent the Israeli wine at the ceremony of the United States Embassy relocation to Jerusalem.

A special edition blend was made for this historical occasion. One bottle from this special wine was personally handed to the honorable president of the United State of America, Mr. Donald John Trump.

In honor of the transfer of the USA Embassy in Jerusalem, a festive breakfast was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, which was produced by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (also known as the OU - the Orthodox Union). Among the speakers was David Friedman, the Ambassador of the United States. A unique wine case that was launched on the occasion of the historic event, comprising the Israeli and American flags side by side, was delivered to the Ambassador with a personal dedication from the owner of the Ella Valley Wineries to Donald Trump, the President of the United States, as a token of friendship between the two countries.

A delegation of 250 high-ranking Americans participated in the event, including among others Steven Mnuchin, the United States Secretary of the Treasury, David Friedman, the Ambassador of the United States in Israel, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Lindsey Graham, the Governor of the State of Florida, Jason Greenblatt, US President Donald Trump’s Special Representative to the Middle East as well as Senators and Members of the US Congress. Israel was represented by Ministers, many Knesset Members and other celebrities. Even Ivanka Trump confirmed her arrival, but due to her tight schedule in the Holy Land, she was absent from among those attending the event.

Despite the early hour, eight O’clock in the morning, the diners enjoyed the remarkable wines of the Ella Valley Wineries, that were select from among hundreds of wineries to proudly represent the Israeli wine. The Wineries, which are strictly Kosher (Kosher Mehadrin), prepared in advance and produced a special wine for the event – a unique blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It is worth noting that all the participants of the event will receive a luxurious case containing this special praiseworthy wine as a gift.

The Ella Valley Wineries manufacture approximately 350 thousand bottles per year, and among others they export some of them to the USA, Japan, England and Switzerland. The Wineries employ an esteemed and important international adviser named Patrick Leon, who was the Chief Winemaker at the Château Mouton Rothschild Winery in Bordeaux, France.

The Wineries aim to manufacture premium wines, for this reason, the quality of the grapes is an important and leading principle in the Wineries manner of conduct. The Winemaker is the person responsible for the vineyards and the grape harvest is carried out during the night.

It  is located in the center of the Ella Valley and has a lovely  visitor center and lots of people  are coming from both Israel and abroad  during all year long. They all enjoy a great wine experience and an exemplary hospitality. In each of the beginning of any  month, on Friday mornings, there is a breakfast buffet at the visitor center  that includes, of course, a sampling of the finest wines .

The Wineries own three vineyards in Emek Ha'Ela (The Ella Valley), and their excellent produce has awarded the Wineries prizes and medals in prestigious competitions in Israel and throughout the world. For those among us who travel, we shall point out that the Wineries are located right at the center of the beautiful Emek Ha'Ela (The Ella Valley), right on the Israel National Trail. We do not know whether Donald Trump is aware of the symbolic fact that the Wineries are situated at Emek Ha'Ela (The Ella Valley), nearby the location where the famous battle between David and Goliath took place.

It is possible that some of the members of the delegation arriving from the USA also enjoyed the Wineries’ wine on the aircraft on their way back, since only recently the EL AL Company selected the Wineries’ Sauvignon Blanc wine to be the Company’s house wine. In Israel this wine can be purchased before Shavuot (Pentecost) in selected stores as well.
